My style, what’s the difference?

As the years have passed, I’ve added a few different styles of tattoos to my line of work. These tattoos types include Anime Tattoos, Watercolor Tattoos, Sticker Tattoos, Glitter Tattoos, and even Patch Tattoos! But the majority of the time, it comes down to two main directions. A clean, classic look, or a watercolor, sketchy approach. Each are awesome in their own way, but they definitely are a different vibe. Check out below for an explanation of the difference!

Clean, Classic

The clean, classic tattoo style is defined by its bold color palette and crisp linework. The color shading and gradients are smooth and follow the form of the subject perfectly. A strong light source and simple background bring the character forward and has you focusing solely on it. It’s a classic tattoo approach for a reason and always looks good, even though it takes a bit longer to create due to it's detail!

watercolor, Sketchy

The watercolor, sketchy tattoo style is what I began my career with, so I am very well versed in it. The loose linework and blending of colors create a more organic look as if you were still in the process of the creation. It allows for interesting introduction of different colors into the piece and can create really awesome flow across the body. It my personal favorite style to work in as it takes a lot of the ‘precision’ out of the equation and allows us to be done with our tattoo session a quicker!
